Former Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski Visited BFSU

Former Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski paid a visit to BFSU on March 14.

Mr. Komorowski came to China at the invitation of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA)  and his itenerary would include several Chinese cities. He came to BFSU on his first day in China to attend an exhibition dedicated to the great Polish Writer Henryk Sienkiewicz on the 100th Anniversary of his death and the 110th Anniversary of translation and introduction of his works into China. Mr. Komorowski and Mr. Han Zhen, Chairman of BFSU University Council, cut the ribbon for the opening of the exhibition.

Mr. Komorowski then delivered a speech by the title “China in the Eyes of Poland and Europe”, in which he talked about the current international situation, EU-China relations, Poland-China relations as well as the future prospects for cooperation between China and Central & Eastern Europe. He also emphasized the importance of Poland-China cooperation in the field of education.

Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski served as the President of the Republic of Poland from April 2010 to August 2015. During his last visit to BFSU in December 2011, he attended the opening ceremony for the first China-Poland University Presidents’ Forum and unveiled the Polish Studies Center. In June 2012, Polish First Lady Anna Komorowski visited BFSU and planted a friendship tree on the campus.

Polish Ambassador Miroslaw Gajewski, CPIFA Vice President Sun Rongmin and BFSU Vice President Yan Guohua were also present during the event.
