From December 9 to 10, 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference took place in Changsha, Hunan Province. Sun Chunlan, Vice Premier & Chair of the Council of Confucius Institute Headquarters, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was chaired by Chen Baosheng, Minister of Education & Vice Chair of the Council of Confucius Institute Headquarters.

    The theme of the conference was “Innovation and Development of International Chinese Language Education in the New Era”. During the conference, 1 seminar and 32 workshops were organized, focusing on topics such as “Chinese + vocational skills”, international Chinese education policies, standards, teachers, teaching materials, teaching methods, tests, projects, and closer cooperation with foreign partners. Over 1,000 people representing Confucius Institutes and Chinese education institutions in over 160 countries and regions attended the conference. BFSU Vice President Yan Guohua attended the conference. BFSU was awarded as “Outstanding Confucius Institute Chinese Partner” for its outstanding performance.
