The Department of Physical Education of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) offers physical education courses to all BFSU students, manages their extracurricular sports activities, provides training to various sports teams of BFSU, organizes sports competitions and conducts sports and health assessment for BFSU students.

Currently, the Department has a total staff of 16, including 15 teachers and 1 full-time teaching assistant. Among them, we have 9 associate professors and 6 lecturers. Together, they offer physical education courses to the undergraduate students of BFSU.

Our Department is also responsible for the regular training of 11 different sports teams of BFSU: men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball, men’s football, badminton, tennis, table-tennis, track and field, aerobics and swimming. Thanks to the joint efforts of the teachers and students, these teams have achieved outstanding performance in all kinds of sports competitions.

In 2010, BFSU enrolled a special group of students who are good swimmers. The Department of Physical Education is responsible for their professional training and competition, and the School of International Relations and Diplomacy is responsible for their academic courses.
